We have a brilliant and committed team at Southfield, all of whom bring a range of experience and knowledge, allowing us to provide the best care for our horses.

 

Karen Jewell - Assistant TrainerIMG 1957

Karen has been involved in racing her whole life and is a very experienced horse woman.She has a brilliant eye for horses and has enjoyed success race riding, showing, show jumping and eventing.

Karen drives the box and enjoys going racing with the horses as well as competing at shows espesially ROR (retraining of racehorses)

 

Paul Mc Nicholl 

Paul was born in Ireland and bought up with horses, he rode on the flat before making the transition to England in the 80s

Paul has a unique gift with young horses, he enjoys breaking and bringing on the youngsters before they come into training.

He also keeps our gallops & Pastures in good order and looks after broodmares & yongstock as well as driving the lorry!

 

Vicky Cox - Yard Manager
Many years of experience in the equestrian world in various disciplines, such as Hunting,Dressage and Eventing. Vicky and Bryony keep the yard organised and both enjoy working with young horses.IMG 9

Oliver Brophy - Rider and Stable Hand 

A pupil from the British Racing School, Oliver is cheerful and extremely keen.  He rides well and enjoys travelling with the horses to the races.

Oliver has recently obtained his Amateur Riders Licence and had a memorable first ride in a charity race at Lingfield in JulyIMG 4413

 

 

 

Alex Comey - Rider and Stable Hand 
Another pupil from the British Racing School. Alex is a good rider who is also in the process of gaining his Amateur Riders Licence.  He loves a day's hunting and show jumping on his own horses. alex5

 

Bryony Gebbett - Yard Manager
A well established member of staff, Bryony has lots of experience of working with young horses. She  and Vicky keep the yard running smoothlybry

 

 

Katie Long - Morning Work Rider
Katie completed the British Racing School course and her Agriculture and Business studies at Plumpton College, before returning to us as a work rider. She combines her work here with Eventing, showing her pedigree sheep and cattle, and is passionate about the care of all of her animals.
